Kaede is a patriot who helps day and June escape the republic after June pays her. She has short black hair, her skin color is white, and she usually has goggles on her head or wearing them. The reason I chose Kaede is because she is always acting tough and isn't afraid to fight anyone and I will do anything to win that fight if necessary, but she also has a protective side to her because she saved June and Day from death. I am the same way as her in both ways.

Day : 15 year criminal that lives on the  streets with his friend Tess and stealers to help his family and  other  poor people  really name is  Daniel Altan Wing 

June: 15 year old genius attending Drake University a military training school lived with her brother until he was murdered 

Tess: orphan that works with Day 

Days family : John : older brother who knows Day is alive 

Eden :  young sick brother 

Mom: Day's resourceful mother 

Metias Iparis: June's brother and a captain in the republic, he keeps analog journals. 

Thomas: Metias's disciplined, former driver, he has a romantic feeling for June. 

Commander Jameson: Metias's sadistic former commander. She recruits June after Metias's murder. 

Ollie: June's beloved white shepherd dog. 

Chian: a republic official who administrates the Trial.

Marie Lu is Who?

 June and Day, the two main characters in the book are at a time in their life where they realize they have to fight to live. They must fight because that's the world they live in. They become legends in their time because they are rebels and fight back.

Marie Lu the author of "Legend"  was born in Beijing China. She moved to the United States when she was five years old. She went to the University of Southern California. 
She was an art director in video games before she became a full time writer of  young adult novels.

The setting of the book is in the ruins of  Los Angeles. North America is in a Civil War.

• Why does Marie Lu's writing change when she goes from Junes point of view to Days?
