Love Never Fails -Allison

"I am going to make sure Day doesn't get blamed for this", said June. "I don't want him to die". "I believe he did not do this to Metias". 
"I am not dying for something I did not do", said Day. 
June hasn't heard anything from Day in a few days and she is worried. She thinks they are going to kill Day. She is very upset and is falling in love with Day. 
"June has to know I did not do this, she has to believe me. I love her." "I am being put to death tomorrow", said Day. 
Day finally finds June. He tells her that he knows who killed Metias and that he did not kill him, that he is in love with her but he might be put to death. 
June cries and tells Day she loves him to... June saves Day from being put to death and uncovers who really killed Metias. 
Two years later......Day and June are together and they are back and staying out of trouble and everything has gone back to normal for them. Read Legend to find out what really happens. You won't believe it. 

We Are All In Together (group work) (#9)

Our group really enjoyed reading Legend! There is so much suspense and plot twist. Like who killed Junes brother! We was never expected it to be him. Also the ending was so unexpected the fact that John showed up and I guess you can say he saved the Day!!! (Ha get it...?)  we would recommend this book to people because it is one of the better dystopian books of our generation.  If you enjoy mystery and secrets and unexpected events then you will most defiantly love this book! We didn't really have any "dislikes" from this book. It pleased everyone in our group. Marie Lu did a great job and we praise her.

The Plot Twist -Sarah

Junes Point Of View:

   I did it! I joined the Patriots and found Kaede! I begged and pleaded with her to help me. I had to get Day to saftey I couldn't let them kill him. I told her I wanted to prove to the world that Day wasn't then one who killed my brother and that they was going to kill an somewhat innocent boy! Kaede was hesitant about it at first but then she came around and help me persuade the Patriots. It was working my plan aw going to work and I was going to get Day out. We talked to the Patriots Commander but he told us "Absolutly not ! Day may not be a killer but he has commited many other crimes and I won't let him live to commit another one." I couldn't believe it. I knew there was no way to get him to agree. Day was going to die. 

Days Point Of View

    The Commander came up to my cell. He looked annoyed... At me. That's wasn't good on my part. You never want the man in charge if your life to be annoyed with you. "You will be executed tomorrow instead of in two days due to annoyances. The sooner you're gone the better." I didn't say anything because for the first time I thought he was right. My mother already thought I was dead and that was good. Why not let it be true.  A couple of hours passed and I started to daze off. All of a sudden I heard a ruckus it was my brother John he was standing infornt of me and told me that he would take my place instead of letting me die. "I can't let you do this" I said to John. He had a mask over his mouth. John said "Day, I'm sick I'm going to die and there's no need for you. Get back out there and live and continue to fight the Republic. Day, please put me out of my misery."  I couldn't believe it! My brother was contagious, he was going to die alone he was so young I knew that it would be best to let him take my place but he was my brother I couldn't let him die. John told me that it wasn't up for discussion that he would take my place and even if he didn't he would still get one of the Gaurds to shoot him. At that moment we heard something it was a guard he saw John in my cell  "intruder intruder" he shouted then five more Gaurds ran up to us holding us at gunpoint. The Commander slowly walked over to us "who is this we got here? John? Days brother!" He told us we were going to die tonight instead of tomorrow John was going to be executed for breaking out a fugitive and me of course trying to sneak out and all my recent crimes. 

Junes Point of View 

   Kaede ran up to me "they are killing John and Day tonight! Now!!" I couldn't breathe I started running as fast as I could toward the room where they was going to kill them. Right as I got there they finish the prayer and started to pull the switch "nooooooo" I screamed. Days last word was "I love you June!" He was gone. 

Days Point of View 

 She was the last person I saw. I died happy. 

Junes Point of View 

  *two months later* 

I'm back at Drake. I haven't acted up anymore I stay to myself and follow all the rules like my brother would have wanted. There are rumors about what happened but none are true and I can't bare to talk about it to correct them so I let the rumors spread. I came to the conclusion that's love is evil. Thomas loved me and killed my brother that I loved. And I ended up getting the boy that loved me killed. I blame myself for everyone's death. I wanted to make it right so I am going to follow in my brothers footsteps to make him proud. This was all for him anyways! 

           

My Character & I -Sarah

In the book Legend the girl named Tess really connects to me. She was abandoned at a young age and was taken in by Day and he took care of her. She is caring and very kind to everyone especially to Day. Now she's more grown up she takes care of Day. She is very protective of day because she depends on him because if she lost him she'd be lost. My parents never abandoned me but they took care of me and I'm very protective, loving, and caring of them. I depend on them and it wouldn't know what I'd do without them. They raised raised me like Day raise Tesd. Tess has long hair that is a brown, tan skin with big brown eyes. I have brown hair and wish I had tan skin which is another thing we relate on!

Kaede is a patriot who helps day and June escape the republic after June pays her. She has short black hair, her skin color is white, and she usually has goggles on her head or wearing them. The reason I chose Kaede is because she is always acting tough and isn't afraid to fight anyone and I will do anything to win that fight if necessary, but she also has a protective side to her because she saved June and Day from death. I am the same way as her in both ways.

Marie Lu is Who?

 June and Day, the two main characters in the book are at a time in their life where they realize they have to fight to live. They must fight because that's the world they live in. They become legends in their time because they are rebels and fight back.

Marie Lu the author of "Legend"  was born in Beijing China. She moved to the United States when she was five years old. She went to the University of Southern California. 
She was an art director in video games before she became a full time writer of  young adult novels.

The setting of the book is in the ruins of  Los Angeles. North America is in a Civil War.
